Case Study 1:  Diagnosis: Severe Tendinitis of Superficial Digital Flexor Tendon

Three year-old Racing Thoroughbred

Treatment Protocol:

  Intra-lesional injection with A-Cell
  Game Ready  ice/compression system post injection
  AquaPacer Underwater Treadmill
  Eurociser

Core lesion present  (large black hole in right center of image)       

 45 days post injection

90 days post injection

Affected tendon is on the left
Returning to racetrack 6 months later  

Current status:  
Horse started 5 times since returning to track. Tendon remains unchanged.

 


Case Study 2:  Diagnosis: Severe tendinitis of Superficial and Deep Digital Flexor Tendon

Eleven year-old Thoroughbred Jumper/Former Eventer

Came to EquiSport after sustaining re-injury while at different rehabilitation facility after receiving stem cell injection

Treatment Protocol:

  Game Ready dry ice/compression system, beginning on low pressure and increasing to high
  Eurociser 5x per week
  AquaPacer underwater treadmill

Initial presentation 
Greatly enlarged tendons and 3/5 lame at walk

 Stayed 4.5 months at EquiSport. Image below is 8 months from initial presentation. Horse was sound at trot.

Current status: 
Horse has returned to full work and has remained sound.

 


Case Study  3:  Near Complete Rupture of Medial Suspensory Branch

4-yr old Racing Thoroughbred

Treatment Protocol:

  A-lesional injection on December 31st 2008 with IRAP to reduce/limit initial inflammation
  Intra-lesional injection with stem cells 14 days later after collection via liposuction technique
  AquqPacer 
  Walk on Eurociser

Near complete rupture of ligament branch. 
See large black hole in center of ligament

 Shown 1 day later after intra-lesional 
injection with IRAP. The lesion is filled in with IRAP serum

                    

 

Affected branch 90 days after injection with stem cells and normal lateral branch

                     


Current Status:
