About Us - Experience Matters

Wayne Browning, DVM

Dr. Browning has had a long-standing passion for equine sports medicine and rehabilitation, which began when one of his family’s racehorses suffered a suspensory ligament injury. Prior to receiving his degree in veterinary medicine in 1986, Dr. Browning worked as a groom and veterinary assistant at Longacres Racetrack in Seattle, WA.

Upon graduation, he then worked at the San Francisco Bay Area racetracks, and has continued to own racing thoroughbreds.

In 1991, he opened Bayhill Equine, Inc., a 3-doctor fully ambulatory practice serving the San Francisco Peninsula. His practice is  limited solely to sports medicine and rehabilitation, primarily in English sport horses.  In his veterinary practice, he recognized the huge void in equine rehabilitation from time of injury to successful return to work.  Encompassing many of the strategies of physical therapy in human medicine, EquiSport was born.

He is a member of AAEP, AVMA, CVMA, ISELP (International Society for Equine Locomotor Pathology).  www.iselp.org
